Ryanair has announced three new Polish destinations they will be flying to from Belfast International
The airline will start scheduled flights to Gdansk, Warsaw and Wrocław this winter. Ryanair will operate two flights per week to each city. The news comes after the airline announced seven new routes from the airport earlier this year. The airport's managing director, Graham Keddie, said it was "fantastic news". "It means that this winter should be our busiest ever," he said. He added that the routes "deliver a very comprehensive network to a new and important Polish market". Kenny Jacobs, from Ryanair, told Good Morning Ulster said there was a demand for more routes to Poland "from the business community". These routes join Ryanair's other routes from Belfast International: London Gatwick Milan Bergamo Lanzarote Tenerife South Berlin Schönefeld Alicante Malaga Kraków

Barbados has been added to the growing list of long haul destinations available from Belfast International Airport.
P&O Cruises have announced a 14 night fly-cruise to Barbados on February 3, 2018 on board beautiful new ship Britannia. The 14 night itinerary starts in Bridgetown before departing for paradise islands including Curacao, St Lucia, Aruba, St Kitts and Dominica. Graham Keddie, managing director at Belfast International Airport, said: “It has always been our goal to deliver destinations that local travellers want to visit direct from their local airport. "We are thrilled that P&O Cruises has added Belfast as a departure point for their Caribbean cruises. We are confident that this will be a popular addition for holidaymakers and we look forward to working with P&O Cruises to add more services." Cork Airport saw a 10.5 per cent rise in passenger numbers for the first three months of the year.
The figures are revelaed as the airport announced it has a total of 12 new routes operating or scheduled to start in the upcoming months, including a Madrid link which will launch in June. DAA has confirmed that it plans to construct a second runway at Dublin Airport.
The 3,110 metre runway will be built 1.6km north of the existing main runway and is expected to be delivered in 2020. Dublin Airport is to invest €320m on the project. The airport received planning permission in August 2007 to build a new runway, but the plans were put on hold due to the economic downturn and a fall in passenger numbers. However, today's move had been expected after passenger numbers hit a record 25 million last year, beating the previous record of 23 million set in 2008. There are expectations that the airport may increase passenger charges to help pay for the new runway. American Airlines have announced they will restore their seasonal summer routes from Dublin(DUB) to Chicago(ORD) and Charlotte(CLT) for Summer 2016.
Thomas Cook have announced that they will add direct flights to Cancun from Belfast International. There will be 1 flight weekly for a month to trail the route.
